Dr Janet Bayley MB BS FRANZCP
Dr Bayley is a specialist medical practitioner in the field of psychiatry, providing treatment for adults.
She completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland and undertook psychiatry training in Queensland in a variety of settings, including public mental health clinics and in-patient units. Dr Bayley has been working in Cairns since 1998, in both public mental health and private psychiatry practice.
Dr Bayley has a special interest in:
- Women’s mental health including perinatal disorders;
- Mental health disorders relating to physical ill health;
- Eating Disorders;
- Mental health disorders in old age, and
- Medico-legal reports.
Dr Bayley is an experienced psychiatrist who is a skilled assessor of people’s problems. She utilises a combination of medication and psychological interventions to promote good mental health. Management plans are personalised according to each patients needs and will be developed in collaboration with the individual.
Dr Alex Simpson MB BS MRCGP FRANZCP
Dr Simpson is a specialist medical practitioner in the field of psychiatry providing treatment for adults over the age of 18.
She completed her medical degree at the university of Kings College, London and undertook post-graduate training as a GP prior to moving to Australia in 1996. She undertook her post-graduate training in psychiatry in Queensland, working in a variety of settings in both Cairns and Brisbane.
Since qualifying as a specialist in 2004 she worked in public mental health in Cairns full-time until 2014, when Trinity Clinic was founded. She is now in full-time private practice.
Dr Simpson has a special interest in:
- Women’s Mental health
- Mood disorders/BPAD
- PTSD/trauma related disorders – Military and civilian
- Depression and anxiety
- Personality disorders
- Forensic psychiatry
- Medico-legal reports including WorkCover IME’s
- ADHD – assessment, diagnosis and treatment
Dr Simpson is an experienced psychiatrist who will undertake a thorough assessment of your problems and issues before working with you to formulate an individual treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
She utilises a range of treatment options, including medication and psychological therapies to achieve your optimum mental health. She has a holistic approach and may also recommend a range of Complementary therapies as adjuncts to standard psychiatric treatment.
Kylie Drabsch
Kylie is an Occupational Therapist with over twenty years experience in community mental health. She completed her Bachelor Degree at the University of South Australia in 1990 and a Graduate Diploma of Health Science (Indigenous Community Health) in 2008.
Kylie has worked within urban, rural and remote mental health settings across South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland. She began working in FNQ, Innisfail and Cairns, in 2004. During this time she has had the opportunity to train and practice in a number of different therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sensory Processing and Mindfulness integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, with adults and young people.
Kylie has a special interest in working with people experiencing:
- anxiety
- depression and other mood disorders
- sensory processing issues
- pain
and works within an inclusive framework, welcoming people from culturally diverse backgrounds and the LGBTI community.
Kylie is pleased to offer Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness integrated Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT) to adults and young people (14+), via a specialist or GP referral under a mental health care plan (MHCP). Payment on the day of session is required but Medicare rebates are available, up to 10 sessions per calendar year. Please note: for most people there will still be a gap between the session fee and the medicare rebate.
Alternatively, private health fund claims are also available – please check with your individual fund.

Dr Angela Anson MBBS(Hons) MP FRANZCP
Dr Anson is a specialist medical practitioner in the field of psychiatry, providing treatment for adults.
Dr Anson studied medicine at the University of Western Australia. She completed a Masters of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne, Victoria. She undertook most of her psychiatry training in Melbourne (Alfred Health, Forensicare and The Royal Women’s Hospital). Dr Anson concluded her final year of generalist training in Queensland performing remote outreach clinics with Cape and Torres Area Mental Health Service.
Dr Anson has been living in Cairns since 2017. She also works in the public mental health service as a general adult psychiatrist and perinatal psychiatrist.
She is a FRANZCP accredited supervisor for psychiatry trainees conducting their psychodynamic psychotherapy written case.
Dr Anson provides individualised psychiatric assessment and evidence-based recovery recommendations. This involves non-pharmacological interventions (including education, psychological therapies, behavioural, medical and social interventions) and sometimes pharmacological recommendations (including pre-conception counselling, pregnancy and breastfeeding). She will liaise closely with carers, families, GPs, specialists and other professionals where necessary.
Dr Anson does not provide initial assessment/diagnosis of ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, nor WorkCover and forensic reports. She is not currently taking new referrals.
